The Grounds
Alcaig Cottages are set in around 2 acres of wooded, tranquil grounds. Around half of this is either densely wooded or deliberately left wild for wildlife reasons but the other half resembles parkland and this you are free to enjoy.
We have always striven to make the grounds, peaceful, relaxing and an oasis for local wildlife. Many guests have commented on how much they enjoy the birdsong every morning, the peacefulness or being able to see pheasants wandering around. We have a huge variety of bird species - some quite rare - that visit the grounds which you'll be able to observe due to the feeders in front of the cottages. We also have Roe Deer and Pine Martens that sometimes visit.
