In the heart of the Scottish Highlands, overlooking the Cromarty Firth, just 15 miles north of Inverness, Alcaig Cottages are in a wonderful  location for a multitude of holiday activities. Whether you want to visit the North, West or East coasts of Scotland, they are all within an easy day trip. Within an hours drive are many castles, golf courses and whisky distilleries. 

There are many activities locally available including horse riding, fishing, golf and mountain biking. Bird watching is very popular in the area with many species to be seen from seabirds, waders, buntings, finches and a selection of birds of prey including Red Kites, Osprey and Buzzards. There are  plenty of interesting walks in the area, some of which can be taken directly from the accommodation, others just a short drive away.

Local services are only 2 miles away and the historic town of Dingwall with modern supermarkets and fine small shops including marvelous butchers is only 4 miles away. It takes just 20 minutes to reach the metropolis that is Inverness with a huge range of shopping possibilities.
